The history and uninterrupted continuity of the Greek language are briefly presented, focusing on Hellenistic Koine and the language of the Fathers and ecclesial texts, and the reasons that shaped their linguistic form are presented in particular. The morphology, syntax, and vocabulary of the classical Ancient Greek language are taught alongside and in comparison with the morphological and semantic varieties of post-classical Greek, corresponding to the ancient Greek texts of biblical and Christian literature. Examples of these texts are studied with grammatical, syntactic, and lexical analysis. Electronic resources and their use in studying Greek are presented and exploited. The distinctive features of the language of biblical and ecclesial texts are highlighted, and their appropriate linguistic approach is taught.
