Course Content (Syllabus)
Civil war in Literature. Relations between History and Literaure. Is there any possibility for these terms to coexist? How the manipulation of a trauma and the «Τrauerarbeit» (work of mourning) can heal the pain of grief and function as catharsis? Memoirs, chronicles, testimonies, poems or novels have created a hardcore of texts that alternate myth with history in an area ideologically loaded. The reception of these narrations is based on their authenticity, their literariness and truth. According to these criteria, a close reading will argue in texts of Poetry, Prose and Essay.
