Learning Outcomes
1. Clinical recognition of critically ill patients. 2. Provision of the theoretical basis for proper management of critically ill patients treated in the Intensive Care Unit. 3. Development of skills through clinical scenarios and hands-on practice in basic fields of ICU care management.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course "Intensive Care" aims to provide knowledge/skills focusing on the proper management of critically ill patients treated in the Intensive Care Unit. The teaching units cover all areas of basic ICU care and can be divided into two basic sections: A. Theoretical courses 1. Respiratory failure-ARDS 2. Sepsis - Multiorgan failure 3. Multiple trauma- Burns 4. Brain injury (TBI, Stroke, ICH, SAH, Status epilepticus) 5. Acute renal failure- Renal replacement techniques 6. Sedation-analgesia in ICU 7. Nutrition-Infections 8. Brain death - Support of organ donor B. Practice 1. Mechanical ventilation 2. Hemodynamic support 3. Monitoring (brain -hemodynamic) 4. Acid-base disorders - ABG 5. Metabolic and electrolyte disorders
