Course Content (Syllabus)
- Section 1 (13 hours): Instrumentation systems with sensors: Introduction to instrumentation and measurements – System specifications, quality characteristics of measurements, low power features – Resistance and capacitance sensors, electromagnetic sensors, active and passive sensors, digital sensors, pressure, temperature, humidity, flow, CCD sensors – Signal conditioning for sensors, instrumentation amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, charge amplifiers, Wheatstone bridges, etc.
- Section 2 (26 hours): Learning the LABVIEW programming suite – Basic programming elements, data, control and iteration structures, visualization, processing and storage objects – Automation – Control and management of electronic circuits and laboratory instruments through various communication protocols (USB, UART, GPI) – Implementation of indicative examples regarding measurement systems with hardware interface to a computer - Individual student assignments.
