Learning Outcomes
To enrich the knowledge of the students and familiarize them with the basic concepts of industrial economics and the development of industry in Greece and internationally - as well as the exercise of relevant policy, locally, nationally or transnationally. In addition, emphasis will be placed on the analysis of industrial development in the light of sustainability and in particular the UN Sustainable Development Goals, so that the students will be able to analyze modern issues of industrial development and to provide relevant policy measures.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Conceptual approach: "industry", "development", market definition and industry classification. The political economy of industrial development: a micro- and a macroeconomic approach. Competition policy. Privatization or Socialization - Concentration or Networking. Cross-sectoral linkages and industrial policy: production chains and industrial "symbiosis". Greek industry in the context of modern division of labor.
