Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, students should: 1. be familiar with the theory underlying each of the major therapeutic approaches. 2. be familiar with the basic techniques utilized by each approach and 3. be able to apply theoretical knowledge in clinical problems. 4. know the ethical issues that arise in the context of psychotherapy and how to address them. 5. be familiar with the issues that arise in psychotherapy research.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The following topics will be discussed: 1. how did psychotherapy evolve in its current form? 2. Discussion of the major psychotherapy approaches (psychodynamic, behavioural, cognitive behavioural, humanistic, systemic). 3. Basic interview skills. 4. Ethical issues in psychotherapy. 5. Psychotherapy research.
