Learning Outcomes
After the successful completion of this course, students should be able to translate a small general public text. To do so, they should be able to identify the parameters of the original (author, context, public, etc), and master the basic techniques of research in bilingual and monolingual contexts, and to familiar with the different translation techniques.
Course Content (Syllabus)
This course is intended to give a general overview of the field of translation, its techniques and practices. Thus, students are practicing translation in a variety of general texts such as leaflets, guidebooks, press releases, or advertising material. The aim of this course is to help students develop strategies for managing the translation process and define its steps.
