Learning Outcomes
Specialization in the following fields: • Knowledge of multilevel relations between the state and religions, as reflected in a general constitutional and institutional level, in Greece and Europe. • The importance of the right to religious freedom for religious peace in modern societies • Tolerance and respect for religious diversity and the different religious / cultural traditions. • Understanding of the deep political significance involving the "sacred", especially in extreme forms of contemporary fundamentalisms. • Creative conception of the religious phenomenon, through the dialectic synthesis of opposing views, especially in the area of religious education.

▪ Freedom of thought, conscience and religion (9 ECHR) ▪ International conventional protection of the right to religious freedom ▪ Historical origin and evolutionary development ▪ Charter of the United Nations (1945) - Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) - International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (1966) - International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (1966) - Declaration of the UN General Assembly to eliminate all forms of intolerance and discrimination based on religion or belief (1981) and on minorities (1992)] ▪ Regional Protection Systems: Europe [ECHR (1950) - Helsinki Final Act (1975) - Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union (2000) - Treaty of Amsterdam (1999) and Lisbon (2007)] - America - Africa (Mr. OK) Week Two ▪ Freedom of conscience and religious freedom in Greece in the 19th & 20th century.
