Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction to statistical analysis of paleontological data using statistical software (SPSS, PAST...) at the level of Taxonomy, Paleoecology, Population Dynamics. Sample and Population, Normal distribution, Parametric and non-parametric tests of normal distribution. Poisson distribution. ANOVA-MANOVA-PERMANOVA. Linear Correlation - Allometry. Principal Components Analysis. Canonical Analysis. Correlation analysis. Hierarchical Analysis. Indices of similarity. Introduction to geometric and stratigraphic statistical tests. Analysis of reciprocal mediation. Applications - problem solving.
