Τhe student to accept, appreciate and recognise the concepts of Geodiversity and Geoconservation, and to distinguishe the basic principles of exploitation of the movable and immovable geological heritage
Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction to the concepts of geodiversity and geoconservation. International and National Context. Geoparks : European and National Network-Examples of Exploitation. History of Natural History Museums, modern N.H. Museums. Management and use of museum collections in taxonomy, use of electronic databases (NOW, WoRMS, Fossilworks...). Museological and educational approaches- perspectives. Palaeontology and Material Culture.
