Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: Understand Primary and Secondary Hypertension: They will comprehend the fundamental principles and pathophysiological processes leading to primary (essential) and secondary hypertension. Distinguish Clinical Conditions for Each Form of Hypertension: Participants will be capable of recognizing the clinical conditions that determine each form of hypertension, differentiating various pathologies associated with increased blood pressure. Apply Different Types of Blood Pressure Measurement: They will be able to apply various methods for measuring blood pressure, understanding the significance of accuracy and consistency in monitoring this physiological parameter. In summary, participants will acquire knowledge and skills enabling them to comprehend, distinguish, and apply key concepts related to hypertension.

Course Content (Syllabus)
This course presents in detail the epidemiology and prevalence of hypertension as well as the pathophysiology of blood pressure, reported not only in Greece but also worldwide. During this course, the participants have the opportunity to follow the pathophysiological pathway leading to primary and secondary hypertension as well as the clinical conditions determining each form of hypertension. Different types of blood pressure measurement will be also discussed as well as the hypertension during other conditions or diseases. In general, the aim of this part is mainly to gain theoretical knowledge at the field of hypertension.
