Learning Outcomes
The course aims to provide students with the essential knowledge of digital audiovisual content production and publishing in the new media environment. It includes the development of creative thinking along with lectures on basic principles in audio-visual production. Fundamentals of audio and video, aspects of hearing and vision are developed first, followed by rules of composition and theory, as well as processing techniques for both audio and video. Capturing equipment and software applications related to audio and video content are used showing the different ways of using them in order to achieve the final result. Students work hands-on in the lab, produce content and publish it on various platforms such as broadcast TV channels, media sharing services (Youtube, soundcloud, etc.), live streaming services (UStream, etc.) or social networking (Facebook, Google+, etc.) and microblogging (Twitter).
Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:
1. Understand the stages of production and publishing of audiovisual content.
2. Recognize storytelling techniques for audio and video production.
3. Recognize the structure of the various forms of audiovisual production.
4. Know the equipment and tools used in audiovisual production.
5. Understand the different audiovisual formats involved in different publishing platforms.
6. Produce short audio and video productions.
7. Present in detail and justify their work.
