Learning Outcomes
After the successful completion of this course, students should be able to translate a small general public text. To do so, they should be able to identify the text type of the original and its textual conventions, and master the basic techniques of research in bilingual and monolingual contexts, and to be familiar with the use of dictionaries.
Course Content (Syllabus)
This course is intended to give a general overview of the field of translation, its techniques and practices from French into Greek. Thus, students are practicing translation in a variety of general texts such as leaflets, guidebooks, press releases, or advertising material. The aim of this course is to help students develop strategies for managing the translation process and define its steps; to introduce them to the use of corpora and dictionaries.
