With the successful completion of the course students
- will become familiar with the process of a localization project
- will connect theory with practice through laboratory assignments
- will become familiar with electronic tools used in localization
- will get some practice in website localization through team projects
Course Content (Syllabus)
The aim of this course is to familiarise students with the concepts and basic elements of localization placing special emphasis on its technological dimension and its relation to terminology. The students are presented with examples from software, website, mobile app and videogame localization. They also get acquainted with special tools and translation/terminological memories used in the process of localization. Additionally, students are taught how to create their own bilingual website. Assessment is done through progress tests and a final written assignment.
