Course Content (Syllabus)
Use of microfossils to identify and interpret environmental changes in space and time, due to either natural factors or anthropogenic activity. Applications of micropaleontology in paleo-environmental/paleoceanographic research, in the determination of climate change and sea level changes, in the disturbances of the environmental health of marine ecosystems, assessment of the quality of marine ecosystems according to the EU Marine Strategy Framework Directive. Ocean acidification and calcareous micro-organisms.
