Learning Outcomes
After the successful completion of this course, students should be able to translate a small EU text. To do so, they should be able to identify the parameters of the original (author, context, public, etc.); to master the different linguistic and textual norms governing EU texts; to recognize terminology of the original; to do research in bilingual and monolingual contexts, print and digital resources.
Course Content (Syllabus)
This course intends to introduce students to EU Translation from French into Greek. For this purpose, students are practicing translation in a variety of EU texts such as petitions, recommendations, opinions, information material and others. Students are also familiarized with the special needs and requirements of this particular text type (such as textual norms, linguistic norms, use of translation tools, research of terminology resources, etc.)
