Course Content (Syllabus)
A practice-based course, with obligatory attendance, which results in individual stage directing projects, lasting 30 minutes, with specific requirements, e.g. type of text, number of actors etc. During winter semester of 2021-22, students will be asked to create small performances inspired of Chechov's work. In particular, the course will adapt as dramatourgic motive, one act scenes based on famous characters of Checkov's plays that appear in Matei Visniek 's play "Machine Checkov" (Matei Visniek,"Machine Checkov", trnsl. E.Vassilikioti, Ipsilon, Athens 2013).The construction of a ‘production text’,the focus on the stage directing core, the directing narratiοn spot as well as actors' training, are basic goals of the course.
