Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students are expected to have achieved a good understanding of a) the neural underpinnings of learning, memory and emotional aspects of behavior, b) the mechanisms of neuroplasticity which are activated in response to damage or exposure to specific environmental stimuli.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The course includes the following topics: neuroanatomy and synaptic mechanisms of learning and memory, b) biological basis of emotional aspects of behavior and biopsychology of stress (stress hormones, stress response), c)mechanisms of neural plasticity in response to damage or to specific environmental conditions.
