Learning Outcomes

2. organize the cast and audition,
3. coach the actors during the rehearsals, the shooting and the dubbing.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The Acting Workshop I introduces students to the process of collaboration with the actor and guiding him/her through the different stages of filmmaking. It also proposes a way of analyzing the film script as a whole and each scene separately, from the perspective of the art of acting.
Our main point of reference is the Stanislavski system and in particular the Method of Natural Actions. The methodology of the course interweaves the theoretical understanding of basic concepts of the system with their practical application in the filmmaking process. Particular emphasis is placed on the active analysis of the script and the film role and the use of etude as one of the main tools for conducting rehearsal.
The process of casting actors and conducting auditions is also examined in detail.

Description
ASSESSMENT
The assessment of the course takes into account the work done in the laboratory (counted at 50%) and the final project also presented in the course (counted at 50%).
The final project concerns the analysis, from an acting point of view, of the script written in the 2SE2 course (and to be filmed in the next semester, in 4ESTH1).
The final project consists of two parts.
The first part involves the oral presentation with the participation of all members of the group in the classroom (pitch using power point) of the film. (5 minutes).
The team has to present in a thorough manner:
α. The film's genre, theme, main idea, plot and acting style of the film.
β. The value from the point of view of the acting of the particular scene, identifying the conflict, turning point, opening and closing value.
c. Photographs of actors, candidates for all roles.
The second part is then presented, which is the presentation of an open rehearsal of the aforementioned scene, where the techniques of guiding actors and script analysis presented in the workshop are used. (15 minutes)
