Learning Outcomes
The student at the end of the course is expected to understand spatial management by its topographic and cartographic dimension. Be familiar with the operation and use of basic surveying instruments, measuring methods and basic topographic calculations. Also, shall draw up a simple topographical chart and understand the use of maps.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course comprises two modules, topography and thematic cartography. The first deals with reference systems, classical and modern surveying instruments, satellite positioning systems, methods of topographic surveying (ground surface, monuments and buildings) and mapping, as well as the implementation of urban planning and building layout. The second section generally deals with the basics of cartography and the introduction to thematic cartography.
