Learning Outcomes
The student is introduced to the basic themes and principles of "Geography and Spatial Analysis" science through relevant examples and through the conduction of exercises on the different topics of the course. After the successful completion of the course, students have the opportunity to conduct a geographical analysis of an area by searching for statistical data on the Internet, using statistical methods to analyze and process this data and applying methods to depict and visualize the results of geographical analysis on diagrams and maps with the help of digital technologies.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The object and the evolution of the geographic science. The meaning of place and space in Geography. Population Geography and Demography. Population data. Types and problems of population data. Population distribution and density. Population indicators and composition. Natural movement of population. Population changes and movements. Emigration-Immigration. Population movement patterns and immigration policy. Impacts. The urban factor and theories of urbanization. The economic dimensions of space and models of spatial distribution of productive activities.
