Learning Outcomes
Learning the basic concepts of transport economics. Understanding the demand characteristics for transport services and the concept of demand elasticity. Understanding the concept of external cost in the transport sector as well as its internalization. Learning the basic stages of a feasibility and economic viability study for transport projects. Learning of discounted cash flow techniques. Learning of sensitivity analysis. Learning the basic characteristics of national and european economic policy in the transport sector.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Fundamental concepts and relations in the transport sector: demand, offer and their interrelations, determination of cost for the implementation and operation of transportation systems. Methods of the determination of cost. Elements for the evaluation of investments in the transport sector using cost benefit analysis and multi-criteria analysis. Elements of national and European economic policy in the transport sector
