Learning Outcomes
Acquisition of theoretical knowledge on relevant issues acquiring practical knowledge using software Digital Processing / Analysis sensing images for environmental applications. Skills development for planning and implementing a project based on the use of remotely sensed data Familiarization with different geospatial datasets for managing environmental problems (i.e. natural disasters)

Course Content (Syllabus)
Electromagnetic radiation and the atmosphere. Electromagnetic radiation and vegetation. Electromagnetic radiation and water. Electromagnetic radiation and soil. Environmental parameters that can be observed by remote sensing techniques. Methodologies of change detection using temporal images. Case studies.

Description
The teaching of the course is performed through lectures and slide presentetions using PC and projector in the classroom. Students receive in electronic form their projects' subject and the material for the implementation of the laboratory exercise. In the PC labs there are installed licenses of specialized digital image processing software for the preparation of the students' project.
