Course Content (Syllabus)
Fundamental to the delivery of this course is the developing of production design and costume design within the broader Film School environment. The course focuses on the critical analysis and discussion of books and films with regard to the costumes of different historical periods as well as contemporary ones, the analysis of characters and how costumes define and highlight them. A rather difficult text is suggested where space and characters are just mentioned and not described. Students are required to build the sets and dress characters according to the aesthetics of the text. It is worth mentioning that during all semesters students attend professional film productions and are given the chance to participate in them.
