Course Content (Syllabus)
Agrometeorology: perspectives and applications. Solar radiation and its role in plant growth. Environmental temperature and crop production. Crop response to CO2. Evaporation and evapotranspiration from open water, soil and plants: measurement and estimation. Crop response to soil water variations. Droughts: understanding and defining, drought indices, predicting, impacts and vulnerability. Role of computer models in managing agricultural systems. Applications of crop models. Decision support systems.
