Upon completion of the classes, the students will have the ability to do retrosynthetic analysis of natural products. Also, they will know a wide range of organic reaction that are used for the total synthesis of natural products.

-Biosynthesis of natural products -Acetic acid biosynthetic pathway -Total syntheses of lipids, prastaglandins, polyunsaturated natural products -Total syntheses of polyketides, macrolides -Shikimic acid biosynthetic pathway -Total syntheses of aromatics -Mevalonate biosynthetic pathway -Total syntheses of terpenes -Mixed biosynthetic pathway of alkaloids -Total syntheses of alkaloids -Biosynthesis of sugars -Total syntheses of sugars
