Course Content (Syllabus)
The current course explores the visualisation of verbal language in the context of Graphic and Visual Communication. By identifying theories of visual and applied Semiotics it examines how meaning is constructed between the image, text/typography and sound for the communication of messages, in different mediums and applications. Additionally, the course demonstrates to students the capacity of Graphic and Visual Communication to reflect culture, as well as outlines the importance of semiotic analysis and critical thinking through specific applications and assignments from relevant fields.
