Learning Outcomes
The course is intended for students above the third semester. Introduction to Database Systems. General applications of multilingual Databases. Collection and management of available materials for language teaching/learning/training. Learning objects, basic notions, types and uses. Electronic corpora, applications and their use. Digitization, recording, storage and retrieval of linguistic data and materials. Wikis environments for language teaching. Development methods and management tools. The evaluation is done by the system of continuous monitoring. Learning Outcomes: At the end of the semester, students must possess a basic knowledge about the structure, the functions and the possibilities offered by modern Databases Systems and also be able to: - Carry out research and exploit the Web using advanced techniques to manage all kinds of information (text, audio and video clips, etc.) that may be useful in teaching / learning procedure, - To utilize network services of any kind, in order to collect and / or develop learning objects and use them in the educational process, - To use modern wiki environments and be able to develop language training services through the web. During the course, students participate systematically in didactic-pedagogic exercises, develop learning strategies utilizing the above knowledge with a view to their application in the classroom.

Student Assessment
Description
The evaluation is done with work during the semester. Students undertake each task individually (usually in developing content using software tools). The evaluation criteria are: technical excellence, scientific / theoretical support, originality and completeness / variety of content. Works submitted to the teacher and if need there be returned to students with suggestions to make corrections or other major or minor improvements. The evaluation is done by the system of continuous monitoring.
