Learning Outcomes
Based on the guidelines of the European Qualifications Framework and levels 6, 7, and 8, upon successful completion of the course, students will have acquired the following knowledge, skills, and competences:
Knowledge:
-In-depth understanding of the fundamental principles of designing and producing educational material.
-Understanding the interaction between language teaching theories and the production of educational material.
-Knowledge of the language skills (production–comprehension / oral–written) that shape the structure and objectives of teaching materials for the Greek language.
-Understanding how learner characteristics interact with the effectiveness of language-teaching material.
Skills:
-Analytical thinking and the ability to identify the literacies developed through the features of educational material.
-Application of basic principles of designing and producing educational material based on specific aspects of the Greek language.
-Ability to interpret teaching methodologies in light of the theoretical models taught.
-Proficiency in using tools and technologies for designing language-teaching material and investigating its effectiveness.
Competences:
-Ability to work independently and to design and produce educational material using appropriate theoretical and methodological approaches.
-Ability to collaborate in a team and exchange ideas and data in an academic context through discussions and cooperation with fellow students and instructors.
-Critical thinking and self-reflection in the analysis of language-teaching material, identifying the limitations and challenges of the theories studied.
-Ability to design research projects for developing new ideas and hypotheses in the analysis of teaching Greek as a language.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course "Design and Production of Educational Material" focuses both on the theoretical background and on the practical application of designing educational materials for teaching a language as L2 or HL. Within the framework of the course, students will learn how to evaluate, adapt, and create educational material, taking into account the target audience, available resources, and the cultural context, through the lens of the pedagogical framework they adopt. The course covers principles of both designing and adapting materials for each language skill, using authentic online sources as well as digital tools, and guides students in integrating them into the learning process. Through practical exercises and applications, students will have the opportunity to analyze and adapt real educational materials and design new ones.

Student Assessment
Description
The assessment consists of a variety of methods to ensure the development and evaluation of different skills. More specifically, written assignments, oral presentations, as well as written and oral examinations are among the assessment methods used. These methods require the development of numerous skills, such as academic writing, synthesis, understanding of theories, proper use of bibliographic references, application of theory to educational practice, critical thinking, educational insight, reflective analysis, oral communication, in-depth understanding of content, active participation, use of visual aids, research, substantiation of arguments, and originality.
