Learning Outcomes
After the successful completion of this course students are expected to translate a relatively small text of general interest. To this aim, they should be able a) to recognize general texts and text types; b) to identify translation difficulties and c) to search for documentation recourses.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Designed to deepen students' understanding about translation, this course mainly focus on translation as practice. Therefore, a number of press articles will be examined and translated, with special references to their cultural implications and the way they should be treated during translation. Students will also learn how to use translation resources (both printed and electronic, parallel texts, reference books etc.).
