Course Content (Syllabus)
Systematic presentation and analysis of the main stages in the formation of the religion of ancient Israel and the basic theological ideas and themes of the Old Testament, which touch on its theology, anthropology, Christology, soteriology, ecclesiology, eschatology and constitute the content of its supernatural divine revelation. The aim is to familiarize oneself with the theological thought of the Old Testament, the theological concerns, religious concepts and the cosmogony of ancient Israel and the peoples and cultures of its time, as well as its integration into the theology of the New Testament and the dogmatic theology of the Church. Teaching program: 1. Introduction. Description of the course and teaching program. The religion of ancient Israel before the establishment of the kingdom. 2. Religion in the period of the kingdom. 3. The religion of early Judaism. 4. The history of the development of Old Testament Theology. Themes and concerns in modern research 5. Cosmology. The six-day creation of the world I: Genesis 1,1-24. 6. Cosmology. The six-day creation of the world and the cosmological models of modern Physics 7. Anthropology. The creation of man Genesis 1,26-28. 2,7-8. 8. Anthropology. The phenomenon of life, the origin of man and the science of Biology. 9. Anthropology-Ecology. The protoplasts and paradise. Genesis 2,8-17. 10. Anthropology. The creation of woman. Genesis 2,18-24. 11. Soteriology. The fall of the protoplasts. Genesis 3:1-7. 12. Soteriology. The promise of redemption. Genesis 3:8-24. 13. The religion of Israel in the past and present - Summary-Conclusions.

a) Oral or written exam b) Research Paper with the possibility of improvement (once) c) Optional assignment The final grade comes from the exam by 60% and the paper by 40%. One point is added to the final grade from the optional assignment. The examination can be repeated.
