Learning Outcomes
After attending the course, students will be able to: - Understand the basic concepts of global markets, investment and trade. - Analyze the strategies of multinational corporations and their role in international trade. - Evaluate the impact of international capital flows and international trade flows on economies. - Examine the challenges faced by multinational corporations in foreign markets and their strategies to address them. - Understand the policies and regulations that affect international investment and international trade.

Course Content (Syllabus)
This course examines global markets with an emphasis on international capital flows and international trade flows. Its aim is to provide students with an understanding of international business operations and the activities of multinational corporations in the contemporary international business environment. In this context, the theoretical background of Foreign Direct Investment, and other forms of business internationalization, is examined, focusing on their incentives and determinants. Students will study the strategies, challenges and opportunities faced by multinational enterprises when expanding into international markets, the impact of Foreign Direct Investment on economic growth and the policies of host countries. Additionally, the course will also focus on forex and other portfolio investments, which make up the bulk of international capital flows, and also international trade flows. Alongside the development of the theoretical framework, quantitative data and case studies will be also examined through a historical perspective.

Description
Students are assessed through a compulsory written examination with multiple-choice and extended-response questions. In addition, students may produce optional work (individual or group) that contributes to the final assessment.
