Course Content (Syllabus)
Translation, exegesis and interpretation of the book of Wisdom with emphasis on natural revelation and natural and moral evil. Comparison with related texts from Ancient Greek Literature. 1. Introduction 2. Wisd 1.1-15 ( Preamble ) 3. Wisd 1.16-2.24 (aversion of justice is death) 4. Wisd 3.1-4.6 (The fate of the righteous and unrighteous) 5. Wisd 4.7-19 (The death of the righteous) 6. Wisd 4.20-5.14 (The judgment of the wicked) 7. Wisd 6.1-21 (The king must seek wisdom) 8. Wisd 6.22-9.19 (Solomon and demand of wisdom) 9. Wisd 10.1-12.27 (The energy of wisdom in history: From Adam to Moses) 10. Wisd 13.1-15.19 (Physics Revelation and Idolatry) 11.
