To meet the entry requirements the students must hold a degree in relevant discipline issued either by a Greek University or by a Greek Technological Educational Institute (ATEI). Graduates with an equivalent degree issued by an internationally recognized university can also apply.
To be awarded an MSc in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in the first semester the students must successfully complete three (3) compulsory courses, one (1) elective course and compulsory seminars,in the second semester four (4) elective courses and compulsory seminars and a Graduate Diploma Thesis during the third semester of study. To obtain the MSc, it is required to collect 90 ECTS, 30 per semester.
The Graduate Programme aims to prepare scientists that are qualified to be employed by national and/ or international companies in research, production or administrative positions as well as to encourage both the research and the transfer of research results to the productive sector, such as health, food, energy and environment.
The programme offers two specializations:
1. Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in Health and Food
2.Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in Energy and Environment
The MSc does not alter the professional rights of the holder, which of are dictated by their respective first degree. This is in accordance with national and EU legislation. In some cases, employment in the public or private sector requires specialized knowledge for which a relevant MSc is a formal or essential prerequisite.
Graduates are eligible to apply for a Doctoral degree.
A scale of 1 to 10 applies to the marks of each subject in the Hellenic Higher Education.

3 SEMESTERS, 90 ECTS.
A full academic year is equivalent to 60 ECTS units and each semester to 30 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) (1 ECTS=25-30 student work load hours). Compliance with the ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) regulations started in 2007, when the Greek Legislation was harmonized with the relevant European one (Ministerial Decision no Φ5/89656/β3, art. 1-3, Hellenic Government Gazette no 1466/2007/B).
