The Postgraduate Programme of the Chemistry Department "Molecular Modeling - Chemical Education" offers high quality postgraduate education in two specialisations, which cover two basic and applied fields of contemporary Chemistry that is: "Molecular design and Modeling" and "Chemical Education and Information and Communication Technologies". The educational objective of the programme is the theoretical and practical training of students in their specialization and the introduction in scientific research. During the first two semesters, students attend courses credited with 60 ECTS totally. In the third semester students, prepare their MasterThesis on a research project, which is credited with 30 ECTS. Totally, the completion of 90 ECTS and attendance of three semesters are required.
The aim of the programme is to prepare skilled scientific staff for both research and service in fields critical for the economic development. Areas where the expertise of the graduates is required are Universities and Research Institutions, research departments of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry, Public Administration, Education and Public Organizations and Agencies.
In addition to the basic knowledge on their specialization, the graduates obtain the ability to criticism and self-criticism, as well as the ability to seek, analyze and synthesize data and information, to work independently or in groups, to generate new ideas, to promote free productive and inductive thinking.

A scale of 1 to 10 applies to the marks of each subject in the Hellenic Higher Education.

A full academic year is equivalent to 60 ECTS units and each semester to 30 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) (1ECTS=25-30 student work load hours). Compliance with the ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) regulations started in 2007, when the Greek Legislation was harmonized with the relevant European one (Ministerial Decision no Φ5/89656/β3, art. 1-3, Hellenic Government Gazette no 1466/2007/B). Each course is credited with a number of ECTS (>=2) according to the studentworkload (contact hours, laboratory work, examination etc) and accumulation of credits (ECTS) is accomplished after successful completion of the course.
