PTYCHIO Degree from a University in Greece or from a recognized foreign institution of equivalent status. This Postgraduate Specialization Degree (PGSD) programme accepts graduates of Biology, Medicine, Pharmacy and Chemistry Schools and other similar faculties / departments, after succeeding in entry examinations.

A full academic year is equivalent to 75 ECTS units and each semester to 30 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) (1ECTS= 25-30). Compliance with the ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) regulations started in 2007, when the Greek Legislation was harmonized with the relevant European one (Ministerial Decision no Φ5/89656/β3, art. 1-3, Hellenic Government Gazette no 1466/2007/B). A full academic year is equivalent to 60 ECTS units and each semester to 30 ECTS.

The aim of the PGSD is: 1) the in-depth theoretical training of its students in one of the two available specializations, 2) their active and multifaceted participation in the field of Neuroscience and Neurodegeneration; and to engage in professional activity on it, with applications in research and clinical practice, and 3) to conduct research and engage in scientific writing.
Apart from the basic scientific knowledge, postgraduate students acquire the following abilities: 1) to apply knowledge to practice, 2) to search, analyze and synthesize data and information using appropriate technology, 3) to work individually, in teams and / or multidisciplinary scientific environment, 4) to adjust to new situations and take decisions, 5) to comprehend information in a foreign language, 6) to produce new ideas and scientific knowledge, 7) to show responsibility, 8) to develop critical ability and 10) to promote free, productive and inductive thought.
