<p>Α Degree awarded by a Greek public University or by a recognized foreign Institution of equivalent status or by a Technological Education Institute is required. The Degree subject has to be equivalent to those of Geotechnical, Polytechnical, Biology, Biotechnology or IPSP studies. <p>Minimum requirement for the Graduate Study Program (GSP) “Soil, Water, Energy Resources and Agricultural Environment Management)” of the Faculty of Agriculture that leads to a Master’s of Science Degree, includes a cycle of studies (successful attendance- examination of courses and defense of Postgraduate Thesis) that correspond to 90 ECTS (Hellenic Government Gazette no ΦΕΚ5109/τ Β΄/9-9-2024). The minimum duration of the cycle of studies is 3 semesters. Students have to attend and complete successfully the exams of the 1st and 2nd semester courses (basic knowledge, scientific area, skill development) each corresponding to 30 ECTS. During the 3rd semester, which also corresponds to 30 ECTS, the students submit a Master Thesis which they defend in public. </p><p>The Program is organized so as to produce skilled scientific personnel for research, education, public service and private sector, with a direct and indirect positive impact on agricultural research in Greece, that will contribute to the development of new technology and will provide support to agronomists and other scientists that are involved in the agricultural sector, and in particular in the fields of Water Resources Management, Soil Science and Agricultural Engineering, promoting the social and economic development framework of Greece. The program also aims to produce and disseminate knowledge, technical expertise, methods, tools and research results in the scientific field of agricultural research. The graduates of the GSP acquire the necessary skills to: 1) apply knowledge in practice, 2) search, process, analyze and synthesize data and information using the necessary technologies, 3) adapt to novel situations and decisions taking, 4) work independently or in groups in national, international or interdisciplinary contexts, 5) generate new research ideas and design and manage projects, 6) demonstrate social, professional and moral responsibility and sensitivity to the environment, 7) reflect on themselves and on others critically, 8) promote free, inductive and deductive thinking, 9) conduct scientific research independently or as members of research teams, in simulation or data analysis or implementation of laboratory approaches and field research, in subjects related to the management of soil, water, and energy resources in agriculture.</p>
<p>Obtaining the Postgraduate Diploma will be an additional help to their job finding as specialized personnel, to their professional development. </p>
<p>The qualification is a terminal award and allows access to doctoral studies.</p>
<p>A scale of 1 to 10 applies to the marks of each subject in the Hellenic Higher Education. The grading scheme is as follows in the qualification Ptychion (Ministerial Decision no Φ.1231/Β1/425 art.60, Hellenic Government Gazette no 1099/2000/B): </p><p>Άριστα (Arista) Excellent: 8.50-10.00 </p><p>Λίαν Καλώς (Lian Kalos) Very Good : 6.50-8.49 </p><p>Καλώς (Kalos) Good : 6.00-6.49 </p><p></p><p>Minimum passing grade : 6 </p>
<p>3 SEMESTERS, 90 ECTS</p><p>A full academic year is equivalent to 60 ECTS units and each semester to 30 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System). 1 ECTS= 25 hours according to the studentworkload. Each course is credited with 7 ECTS, with the exemption of two courses with 2 ECTS each, while the dissertation is credited with 30 ECTS. Accumulation of credits (ECTS) is accomplished after successful completion of the course or dissertation.</p>
