Learning Outcomes
One of the most important elements of rural restructuring is the transition from a production-based economy to a consumption-based economy. The latter includes a variety of activities with prominent tourism. The main objective of the course is to understand the philosophy of the special forms of tourism developed in the countryside, analyzing the special and general characteristics of each specific form of tourism, the connection with the rural area as well as the conflicts between tourism activities and the primary sector.
Upon the completion of the course students will be able to:
1. Understand the philosophy of special interest tourism in the rural
2. Understand the role of specific forms of tourism in local development
3. segment visitors according to their motivations and preferences
4. develop skills to study-organize activities of specific forms of tourism at regional and business level
5. cultivate skills in the assessment of the theoretical and methodological tools of local - endogenous development
6. broaden their professional and research interests
