Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. recognize and understand a basic knowledge of the physiological and biochemical. mechanisms regulating reproduction with emphasis on domestic species. 2. review and evaluate the current literature reflecting their understanding of these phenomena. 3. recognize the goals evolved in the biology of mammalian reproduction and the application of new technologies to livestock production.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Role of the Nervous system in Reproduction. Regulation of the secretion of Pituitary Gonatotropins by the Nervous system. Biochemistry and Physiology of the Gonadal Hormones. Folliculogenesis. Spermatogenesis. Male and female Reproductive organs . Photoperiod. The Breeding Season. Hormonal Control of seasonal Breeding. Estrus Cycle - menstrual cycle. Hormons involved in Reproduction. Fertilization, early embryonic development. Pregnancy. Parturition. Hormonal mechanisms in Pregnancy and Parturition.
