Course Content (Syllabus)
1. Humanistic, music centered approach: basic principles. Theoretical and experiential training in humanistic theories of personality (Carl Rogers, Fritz Perls, Irvin Yalom, Rollo May etc). Application in relative Music Therapy models at individual and group level (i.e. P. Nordoff - C. Robbins). 2. Psychodynamic approach: basic principles. Theoretical and experiential training in psychoanalytic theories of personality (Sigmund Freud, Carl Yung, Jacques Lacan, etc). Application in relative Music Therapy models at individual and group level (i.e. M. Priestley). 3. Basic training in Music and Imagery. 4. Music-psychotherapy. 5. Fostering understanding in psychopathologies. 6. Research methodology. Emphasis on qualitative-phenomenological methods. 7. Discussion on issues about clinical practice. 8. Presentation of case studies. 9. Discussion on supervision. 10. Ethics.
