Course Content (Syllabus)
Synthesis of methyl benzoate and methyl m-nitrobenzoate. Photochemical reduction of benzophenone. Friedel-Drafts reaction (synthesis - p-methylacetophenone). Grignard reaction (synthesis of triphenylcarbinol). Aldol condensation. Acetylation of glycine - Erlenmayer reaction (synthesis of oxazolidinone) - hydrolysis to acetamidocinnamic acid. Identification of unknown compounds by the analysis of the spectra data theoretically and by using both spectral and experimental data
