Learning Outcomes
1. Understanding of the anatomy of plants and ability to microscopically identify the cells, cellular organelles and structures.
2. Understanding of the plant meristems and ability to identify them macro- and microscopically.
3. Understanding of the plant body, the tissues and organes. Identification macro- and microscopically.
4. Understanding of pollination and fertilization procedures for gymnosperm and angeiosperm plant species. Ability to microscopically identify the fertilization phases.
5. Understanding of procedures of embryo, seed and fruit formation.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Plant cytology (cytoplasmic organelles, plasma membrane, nucleus, endomembrane system, cytoskeleton,cell wall). Cell cycle and cellular divisions (mitosis-meiosis). Meristems and differentiation. Plant anatomy/Morphology (fruit, sperm, young shoot, shoot, leaves, root). Cytology (cell biology). Anatomy and histology (plant anatomy and related issues). Secondary structures. Morphology and anatomy of the flower, pollination and fertilization. Seed morphology and anatomy, transfer and germination of the seed.
