Course Content (Syllabus)
This specific course aims to:
a) Inform graduate students about the history, theology and the cultural elements of the Christian Calendar of Feasts and the Euchologion.
b) Introduce them to the relevant sources, namely the patristic, hagiographical and liturgical texts.
c) Investigate in detail all aspects of the Christian Calendar of Feasts and Euchologion (theological, anthropological, soteriological, cultural).
d) Study the rich hymnography of the Feasts of the Master, the Theotokos and the Saints, as well as the prayers of the Byzantine Euchologion.
e) Assist the graduate students in their academic progression as well as their pastoral activity in the Church through all the liturgical wealth examined.
