Learning Outcomes
It is expected that the students will understand the statistical nature of the the thermodynamic  and more general physical phenomena. They will learn the three basic statistics (microcanonical, canonical, grandcanonical distributions), as well as their applications to physical systems.

Thermal equilibrium, Isolated systems, Postulates of statistical physics.Microcanonical, Canonical and Grandcanonical ensembles.Applications: Ideal classical gas, Heat capacity of solids, Paramagnetic solids, Ideal quantum gas, BlackBody radiation, FermiDirac statistics, Electron gas, BoseEinstein statistics, Bose condensation.
