Course Content (Syllabus)
1st Seminar: History of the excavations. Locating archaeological sites.
Fundamental principles of the excavation process. Stratigraphy. Dating methods.
2nd Seminar: Diary writing. Recording, documentation and interpretation of
archaeological findings.
3rd Seminar: Familiarity with object classes that are often archaeological finds, such as pottery, coins. Connecting the various findings by the Find field.
4th seminar: History of important archaeological excavations in byzantine sites
5th seminar: Methodology of archaeological excavation.
6th seminar: The evidence of the material culture.
