Learning Outcomes
Τo introduce the students to the art of the Italian renaissance, through the study of the works and artists that form a new artistic reality, that constituted the greatest fact of contemporary European culture. In this framework, the course will refer extensively on various art forms, like architecture, painting and sculpture.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Around 1420 in Florence charismatic artists like Masaccio, Ghiberti, Brunelleschi, Donatello, created works whose influence for the evolution of modern art were of decisive importance. Also, there is a presentation of the art produced after 1450 and of the way, in which the proposed iconographic and stylistic forms by artists like Uccello, Fra Angelico, Piero della Francesca, Botticelli and others are connected with the political developments of their era.
