Learning Outcomes
Knowledge: Understanding of the concepts of spatial analysis and Landscape Ecology and specific design methods. Construction of thematic maps with integration of biological, ecological and other information
Skills: Handling of special GIS software and utilization for creating thematic maps as an instrument of information transmission and for the presentation of papers and reports

Theory: 1. Introduction to Landscape Ecology. 2. Landscape metrics., 3. Basic cartographic concepts 4. Cartographic projections 5. Thematic maps 6. Analysis of Mapping data 7. Cartographic methods 8. Geographic Information Systems, 9. Mapping flora and vegetation, 10. ecological connectivity, 11. Systematic conservation planning, 12. Projection in time and space, 13. Climate change and range shifts
