-explain the anthropological model of the Martyr of Faith
-analyze the missionary, social and political impact of its presence
-describe the Koranic interpretations of martyrdom
-deepen their knowledge in the Christian martyrdom

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course presents the Koranic interpretations of martyrdom (shahâdat) and the martyr (Shahid) and the ways in which the Muslim tradition experienced these concepts. In addition, the conceptual distinction of martyrdom between Sunni and Shiite Islam is presented. Then follows the approach of the Christian martyrdom, starting from the biblical starting point and following its subsequent experiential and theoretical versions.
