Prospective postgraduate students should have a first degree in Philosophy and Education, in Philosophy and Social Studies, in Philosophy, Psychology and Education, any degree from a Faculty of Philosophy or any degree whatsoever from a Greek University. Graduates from foreign universities can also apply on condition that their degree has been recognized as equivalent to a Greek university degree by the proper state authority. Graduates from Greek Technological Educational Institutes are also eligible. Candidates take a written exam in philosophy and in a foreign language and they are also interviewed by a faculty committee.

The Graduate Philosophy Program focuses on the thorough and systematic examination of philosophical problems from many branches of philosophy as well as on the study of the History of Philosophy from antiquity until the 20th century. Its graduates master the necessary skills and knowledge for grasping and dealing critically with major philosophical issues.

The Second-cycle Degree (Metaptychiako Diploma Eidikefsis) awarded by the School of Philosophy and Education entitles holders to be considered for admission to a Doctoral Programme of Studies leading to ang1033 Didaktoriko DiplomaThird-cycle degree of specialization), which is equivalent to a PhD Degree (Doctorate).

A scale of 1 to 10 applies to the grading of each subject in the Hellenic Higher Education. The grading scheme for the qualification of the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Study Program has the following distribution:

·Άριστα (Arista) Excellent: 8.50-10.00

·Λίαν Καλώς (Lian Kalos) Very Good: 6.50-8.49

·Καλώς (Kalos) Good: 6.00-6.49

Minimum passing grade for postgraduate: 6
