<p>PTYCHIO (Degree from a University in Greece or from a recognized foreign institution of equivalent status or from a Technological Education Institute). </p>

<p>For the award of the MSc Degree in Public Health and Health Policy (according to the law FEK2081/7-6-2018) postgraduate students are obliged to complete successfully the modules of the four semesters corresponding to 120 ECTS (Υ.Α. 67145/Β7, ΦΕΚ 1889/2007/B7).</p><p>Postgraduate students obliged to attend and successfully complete the assessments of 9 modules (Basic, General Knowledge, Scientific area, Skills development), that are distributed as following: a) in the first semester (30 ECTS) 3 modules, b) in the second semester (30 ECTS) 3 modules, και c) in the third semester (30 ECTS), 3 modules. During the fourth semester the students are asked to complete their Postgraduate Dissertation which they are publicly support during the final assessment procedure.</p><p>The Aim of the MSc Programme in Public Health and Health Policy is the delivery of specialised knowledge and the promotion of research activity in the scientific fields of Public Health and Health Policy based on an inter disciplinary and holistic approach of health on a population level. The scientific area of the MSc covers all issues related to the health and healthcare needs assessment of the population and the policy responses to these needs</p><p>The specific subjects of the MSc include health care services research, health care systems, epidemiology and biostatistics, health promotion and disease prevention, political economy of health and sociology of health. Training is developed in two streams: A) Public Health and B) Health Policy. The postgraduate students besides the factual knowledge are expected to develop skills: 1) to apply knowledge in practice, 2) to search, analyse and synthesise data and informations, by using the appropriate methods, 3) to work independently or in a team within an interdisciplinary setting, 4) to adapt in new situations and make decisions, 5) to understand information in a second language, 6)to develop new ideas and scientific knowledge, 7) to show responsibility, 8) to develop critical skills and 9) to enhance free, productive and inductive way of thinking.</p><p>The learning outcomes and qualifications of those who have completed successfully the MSc are the following:</p><p>1. 1. The understanding and critical analysis of the main theoretical currents and definitions in the scientific subjects of Health Policy and Public Health<br>2. The comparative evaluation and critical analysis of applied health policies and applied public health programs at the local, national and international level<br>3. The connection of theory with practice, through the development of specific skills for the assessment of the health needs of the population, the assessment of the risk factors of specific population groups, the recognition, quantitative and qualitative assessment of the health inequalities of the population, planning, setting priorities and the detailed planning of health services, public health and health promotion programmes<br>4. Studentsxposure to methodological problems and interdisciplinary research methods in the scientific fields of Public Health and Health Policy<br>5. The practice of students in the collection, analysis and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data necessary for the formulation and evaluation of health policies and public health policies<br>6. The development of critical and research skills required for PhD level studies.</p>

<p>Professional qualification is not applicable in the public or private sector. </p>

<p>The qualification is a terminal award and allows access to doctoral studies. </p>

<p>A scale of 1 to 10 applies to the marks of each subject in the Hellenic Higher Education. The grading scheme for the qualification of the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Study Program follows the following distribution : (Ministerial Decision no Φ.1231/Β1/425 art.60, Hellenic Government Gazette no 1099/2000/B): </p><p>Άριστα (Arista) Excellent: 8.50 - 10.00 </p><p>Λίαν Καλώς (Lian Kalos) Very Good : 6.50 - 8.49 </p><p>Καλώς (Kalos) Good : 6.00 - 6.49 </p><p>Ανεπιτυχώς (Anepitychos) Fail : 0,00 - 5,99 </p><p>Minimum passing grade : 6 (AUTH Rule of Procedure Α.Π.Θ., no 127/2-2-11). </p>

<p>4 SEMESTERS, 120 ECTS </p><p>A full academic year is equivalent to 60 ECTS units and each semester to 30 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) (1ECTS= 25-30). Compliance with the ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) regulations started in 2007, when the Greek Legislation was harmonized with the relevant European one (Ministerial Decision no Φ5/89656/β3, art. 1-3, Hellenic Government Gazette no 1466/2007/B). </p>
